GraceAnn De Cesaris on Scaling AWS Partnerships and Why the Playing Field is Finally Leveling

When GraceAnn De Cesaris joined Skematic as VP of AWS Alliances and Advisory, she brought with her more than a decade in the AWS ecosystem and a simple conviction: the ISVs that win are the ones that never stop learning. That's exactly why Skematic exists so ISVs don't have to master a consistently shifting system by themselves.

“Things change so fast,” she says. “It used to be that something would shift every year, then every six months. Now it’s every week. Something that wasn’t viable last week could be fully viable this week. You have to stay connected, stay flexible, and always be learning.”

GraceAnn spent five years at AWS working directly with ISVs that were new to co-selling with AWS, helping them understand a system that even experienced operators find complex. Before that, she ran her own marketing consulting firm for 13 years and owned an electrical contracting business called Amber Electric. She’s also co-president of SHE:Can, a PCAN.cloud community advancing women in the AWS ecosystem.

The ecosystem insider

What sets GraceAnn apart is the range of her experience. She’s spent years inside AWS, learning how the partner motion works from the team building and running it, and years outside it, helping businesses grow through alliances, marketing and operations. That combination gives her a clear view of where ISVs get stuck and what it takes to move faster.

It’s part of what drew her to Skematic.

"A lot of CEOs don't understand what best-in-class co-sell can bring to their company. Jessica gets it, because she's built it. She knows that with the right tools, the right process, and the right people, you can achieve real financial success and do things for businesses that couldn't be done before."

GraceAnn describes herself as a builder at heart, and her first 90 days at Skematic reflect that. She's focused on connecting the right customers to Skematic's tools and services, deepening Skematic's presence with AWS, and making sure every ISV that needs support today knows exactly where to find it.

Why agentic changes everything for ISVs

It's leveling the playing field," she says. "A smaller ISV now has the same opportunity as the largest players in the ecosystem. You no longer have to wait 10 years to get there."

For GraceAnn, that shift is exactly what Skematic is built for: giving ISVs the speed to compete in a system that used to reward only those with the deepest resources, the widest relationships, and the longest institutional memory. Now, the advantage goes to whoever adapts — and that's the advantage Skematic hands its ISV customers.

Outside the office

Every summer GraceAnn heads to Prince of Wales Island, Alaska to spin fish on the pristine rivers, avoiding the occasional bear along the way. Her and her husband have a friendly wager on who will catch the best fish and GraceAnn claims she usually wins. The rest of the year, she’s home in Elverson, Pennsylvania, population 2,100, surrounded by preserved farmland on three sides.

It’s a long way from the AWS partner ecosystem in some respects. But the instinct is the same. Know your terrain, stay patient, and keep showing up. That’s what she’s bringing to Skematic.
